About the speakers
Command Presence Training: 3 Keys to Extraordinary Culture
John Bostain is the President of Command Presence Training, a law enforcement training and consulting company headquartered in Brunswick, GA. He has committed the last 29 years to law enforcement, 27 of which have been as a trainer. He has trained more than 40,000 law enforcement professionals at the state, local, federal, and international levels and is a frequent speaker at executive level conferences and retreats. He is an instructor in the VALOR Officer Safety and Wellness Program, and was the keynote speaker for the FBINAA 2023 National Conference. In 2012 John became the recipient of the prestigious “Law Officer Magazine Trainer of the Year Award” recognizing his efforts and commitment to law enforcement training. He is a Charter Member and Advisory Board Member for the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA).
John began his career with the Hampton Police Division (HPD) in Hampton, Virginia where he held positions as a patrol officer, patrol supervisor, detective, academy instructor, and SWAT team member. In 2001, John joined the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA where he served in multiple training divisions and taught multiple disciplines. John left Federal service in 2014 to pursue his dream of establishing Command Presence Training, which was recently selected as the 2023 Georgia Veteran Owned Small Business of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Rob Turner leads the Corrections sub-vertical for the AWS SLG Justice and Public Safety team.
Rob has extensive experience in public safety including law enforcement, disaster response, tactical communications, cybersecurity, policy, and legislative affairs. He works with AWS partners to ensure effective technology solutions are available to AWS JPS customers nationwide.
Immediately prior to joining AWS, Rob was the Chief of Investigations and Security Manager for the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee. Before working in the Senate, he served over 21 years in the United States Marshals service. Rob founded and led several national technical operations programs in the Marshal's service throughout his career, and retired from law enforcement as the United States Marshal for Washington D.C.
